After finishing her studies and legal traineeship in 1996, she started her career as a lawyer with Oppenhoff & Rädler, one of the largest and most renowned German law firms of that time. Initially she was based in Oppenhoff & Rädler's Frankfurt office and worked in the area of general corporate and commercial law, where her remit included litigation and smaller M&A deals.

In the autumn of 1997 Christine Oppenhoff relocated to the London office, where she advised on corporate and commercial law and Mergers & Acquisitions (including acquisition finance aspects) and performed representational tasks for the German offices.

After her return to the Frankfurt office in 1998 she became a junior partner and continued specialising in the areas of private M&A, private equity and corporate law. 2001 Oppenhoff & Rädler merged with Linklaters, a leading UK law firm with offices worldwide. Christine Oppenhoff was elected a partner of Linklaters in 2002.

In 2007 she was given the role of the knowledge partner of the German Corporate/M&A practice and directed the strategic repositioning and professionalisation of the knowledge management function. In 2008 she was in addition assigned the co-lead of the knowledge and learning function of all German practices.

Early in 2014 Christine Oppenhoff founded her own law firm, where she advises clients from Germany and abroad on corporate law and M&A matters.
